RMCAD is a school like no other. Our esteemed yet approachable faculty, beautiful and inviting campus, and dedication to providing the top art and design education in the region combine to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our students.

Dedicated Faculty

The experienced faculty is composed of working artists and designers from the top of their fields. Many instructors actively present and exhibit their work on local, national and international levels. They are a diverse group of thinkers, authors, speakers, mentors and educators, committed to student growth and success.

Close-Knit Community

RMCAD’s smaller size offers an intimate atmosphere that is simply not possible at larger institutions. Smaller class sizes allow for more personalized, one-on-one interaction between teachers and students. An open-minded attitude and shared passion for creativity make everyone who steps on campus feel welcome and inspired.

Green Campus

The Institute for Sustainable Studies helps faculty and students revise their work processes to incorporate less toxic materials and procedures into the curriculum. It ensures the historic buildings on campus are conserving energy and reducing waste wherever possible, and is in the process of obtaining certification through the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS), sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Creative Development

Four on-campus gallery spaces are continuously rotated with the work of professional artists, students and alumni, exposing the RMCAD community to a variety of styles, media and concepts. The Visiting Artist, Scholar, and Designer Program brings some of the art world’s most prominent leaders to campus for lectures, discussions, critiques and interactive workshops. The Institute for Experimental Studies collaborates with academic departments to coordinate courses that explore new and diverse approaches to creating art and design.

Professional Development

The Office of Career + Alumni Services offers customized career coaching and success strategies, free of charge, to all students and alumni. Students also have the opportunity to participate in student chapters of nationwide professional organizations, including Colorado Art Education Association (CAEA), AIGA (the professional association for design) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
