Graduates of RMCAD's Animation Department are well prepared to become independent artists, animators and producers.

Animation is a competitive field and while the animation industry in the Denver metro area is growing, most animation graduates will find their best opportunities out of state, with many of those being in California.

Salaries

Salaries in the field are very solid. The low end of the salary range for a Model Designer is $39,000. The low end for a CGI Animator is $45,700. As an animator gains experience and seniority, salaries increase significantly.

The median salary for a CGI Animator is $83,200. Median salaries for Staff Writers, Directors, Art Directors, Character Animators and Effects Animators all exceed $100,000.

Career Placement

Of our 2004–2007 Animation graduates who were available for placement, 63% are working in the field. The overall placement rate for all RMCAD graduates is 81%.
