Our Art Education program is based on a simple concept: the best artists make the best art teachers.
As an Art Education major, you’ll choose painting, illustration, sculpture, or photography + video art as an area of specialization. While your technical skills and personal vision develop, you'll also learn how to effectively teach others to appreciate and create art.
- Program subject highlights include:
- curriculum creation
- the psychology of creativity
- classroom management
- student evaluation
- performance standards
- leadership
- professional conduct
- fine arts emphasis
Your coursework will also include a total of 800 hours spent in Denver-area classrooms, so that by the time you graduate with your Art Education degree, you'll have the skills needed to teach almost anywhere in the country.
