Our Art Education program is based on a simple concept: the best artists are the best art teachers.

As an Art Education major, you’ll choose painting, illustration or sculpture as an area of specialization. While your technical skills and personal vision develop, you'll also learn how to effectively teach others to appreciate and create art.

Program highlights:

  • curriculum creation
  • the psychology of creativity
  • classroom management
  • student evaluation
  • performance standards
  • leadership
  • professional conduct
  • fine arts emphasis

Your coursework will also include a total of 800 hours spent in Denver-area classrooms, so that by the time you graduate, you'll have the skills needed to teach almost anywhere in the country.

Our program is approved by the Colorado Department of Education. Check out our Accreditation Page for more information.
