"I've had great art teachers in the past -- I enjoy lighting a little creative fire in the kids. Then I like to step back from instruction, and let the kids flex a little creative muscle." Josh was one of two RMCAD students that taught at the Jefferson County gifted students Outdoor Lab Program during the summer of 2007.
It was the first year to include Visual Arts and RMCAD was invited to partner with this pilot start. Josh and one other Art Education student got to spend a week at Mt. Evans with several sixth graders.
They were there 24/7, supervising the dorms at night and teaching art during the day.
"Working with art teachers who have been working for a long time was really good. Some days I got to observe, others I got to take over."
