Justin Jensen

Assistant Professor

Illustration, RMCAD | 2003
Painting, Colorado State University | 2007

"I use my artwork to explore the nature of reality and to reflect on the human condition. The collective experience of humanity is that we sense something beyond us that we long for and yet we cannot attain it. My most recent series takes this idea further and adds Trompe l’oeil elements onto the surface of the work. These further the sense of a realm that is immediate and yet separate from us."

Jensen has shown his work in Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, Nebraska, and Idaho. He is currently showing with CORE new art space in the Santa Fe district in Denver, as well as working on illustrating a children’s book. Jensen has been teaching since 2009, began working full-time with RMCAD in 2013.
