We want our students to lead balanced lives. Most RMCAD students spend a lot of their free time working on their art. But we also offer a ton of cultural, entertainment and recreational opportunities, both on- and off-campus.

We sponsor many events for students each week—everything from movie nights to barbeques to bowling parties. All of the ideas for events come directly from student suggestions.

Students sharing common interests or hobbies can come together as a recognized Club. These student organizations are funded through the Student Government Association and can plan events or programs for fellow RMCAD students.

New Clubs are being formed all the time, but here are a few that are currently active:

The SAN

The Student Voice of RMCAD. The SAN is the outlet for student expression through writing, illustration, photography, and more.

Ping Pong Club

The Screaming Easels creates a spirit of friendly competition on campus and allows students to break away and enjoy a game of table tennis.

Culture Club

The mission of the Culture Club is to inspire our campus to envelop as a community and to discover the beauty of diversity in the different cultures around us.

Film Club

The Film Club's mission is to encourage the participation in film as a medium. Through viewing, context and critical thinking, the Film Club engages in discussion and dialogue about movies.

Hip Hop Club

The Hip Hop Club spreads hip hop and dance culture to RMCAD students. The club meets twice a week to practice routines and teach new dance moves.

Professional Organizations

In addition to the Clubs, RMCAD hosts student chapters of several professional organizations: AIGA (graphic design), ASID (interior design) and CAEA (art education).

Community Service

Students are also encouraged to participate in volunteer work. Many students find this work to be an extremely rewarding experience that often leads to strong personal and professional connections.

Staying Connected

Students stay on top of what’s going on through a weekly E-Newsletter delivered to their student e-mail accounts and via a large Student Activities Calendar in the Student Lounge. Parents can request the weekly E-Newsletter as well.
