This junior-level course introduces students to the physical, psychological, cultural and social considerations of designing restaurants and retail spaces using collaborative approaches and research methods. Students integrate this knowledge with space planning strategies, brand development, life safety codes and standards, and furniture, finish, and equipment specifications from a design development and presentation perspective.
