RMCAD is pleased to announce the opening of Bruce Price: Works on Paper, 2007–2012 at the Denver Art Museum. The opening reception will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the atrium of level three in the Denver Art Museum’s Hamilton Building. The opening will be followed by an informal discussion with Price in the gallery. Spun: Adventures in Textiles exhibition will remain on display through November 3, 2013.

The exhibition will feature more than 30 drawings and sculptures created by Bruce Price, RMCAD’s Institute for Experimental Studies (IES) Director. Pieces were chosen from a large body of work that expresses Price’s interest in materialism, the distortion of patterns, and ordered chaos. The exhibition is part of the Denver Art Museum’s Spun: Adventures in Textiles, a campus-wide exhibit that examines the ways in which artists past and present use textiles.

Bruce Price, RMCAD’s IES Director, is a contemporary painter concerned with ornamentation, emergence theory, the evolution of western subjectivity and multiplicity. With multiple solo shows in New York and Denver, Price’s work has been included in exhibitions in Mexico and China. In addition to painting, Price maintains several art-related blogs and teaches visual design, experimental drawing, digital image making, painting, art history and form and content at RMCAD.
