Sheng Qi left Beijing in 1989, after the Tiananmen Square incident. Before leaving, he cut off the little finger from his left hand and buried it in a flowerpot. He has been in a number of different exhibitions internationally and has an exhibit book called Confidential that highlights his work.
Chinese artists Sheng Qi and Liu Wei are pleased to share their work with the RMCAD community. Sheng Qi is exhibiting in the Steele Gallery, while Liu Wei's work can be seen at the nearby Curtis Arts & Humanities Center.
