The Visiting Artists program welcomes Artist/Writer/Teacher - Dr. Julia Marshall to the RMCAD campus.

Julia Marshall teaches art education at San Francisco State University. She holds an EdD from the University of San Francisco and an MFA in sculpture from the University of Wisconsin. Julia taught for many years as an artist in the schools in the Bay Area where she specialized in art integration for elementary, middle and high school. She also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents in museums and cultural centers. Julia’s scholarship and interests lie in contemporary art and its role in art education, integration of art with the academic curriculum, creative inquiry-based pedagogy and the intersection between creativity and learning. As a practicing artist, she finds a dynamic interaction between her studio work and her investigations as a teacher and scholar.

She will also speak at the Denver Art Museum on Sat., March 1st from 10 am-12noon for the ArtSource/CAEA professional development lecture series with her workshop: "It All Comes Together: The Dynamic Connection Between Art, Integration and Creativity." RSVP is required for this event.
