In his address to the RMCAD community, Senator Hart will share his perspective and opinions on issues of homeland security, an often polarized and politicized religious environment, and how we can critically understand and responsibly act as we approach a crucial Presidential election.
Gary Hart represented Colorado in the U.S. Senate from 1975 to 1987, where he served on the Armed Services Committee, specializing in nuclear arms control and military reform. He is the author of sixteen books. He also campaigned for president in '80 and '84. Senator Hart holds law and divinity degrees from Yale University and in 2001 earned a D.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University.
His expertise in foreign policy and national security is broad and bipartisan. His latest book, recently released, is "Under the Eagle's Wing: A National Security Strategy of the United States for 2009". He also served on the US Commission on National Security which predicted the events of 9/11.
