The foyer of the Texas building doubles as an alumni exhibition space. We're proud of the artists we've helped launch into the professional art world, and we're excited to share how far they've advanced after studying with us.
Gallery Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.The Texas Gallery is located on the ground floor of the Texas Building on the east end of the RMCAD campus.
Current Exhibition
Kathy Knaus
Reception: Sept. 26, 6-9 pm
Dates: Sept. 26 - Nov. 25, 2008
Kathy graduated from the Fine Arts department for RMCAD in 2000. Her current work explores the relationship between her father’s meat market and memories distilled from the experience of working alongside family members.
She likens the experience with paint with working with meat saying, “To me, meat appears as sensuous and as beautiful as the human figure. This complicated symmetry between the gross and the sensual is much like the awkward compatibility between beauty and horror.”
Upcoming Exhibitions
Jeff R. Weihing
Jan. 5 - Mar. 7, 2009
The current series of sculptures and prints are highly influenced by Theoretical Physics. I interpret these theories and give form to formless ideas. By giving these theories form, I hope to create a visual understand of the of the vibration of space that surrounds humans. The contrast between the human form and the geometric structure that relates to science is what gives life to the sculptures and prints. Scientist and artist are searching for the same thing, Truth.
Jeff Weihing graduated from RMCAD in 2000 with a degree in Sculpture.
