Billing Questions

  • Tuition is due in full at the start of the term. Payment is due on the first day of the month in which classes start. So, for a new student enrolling in the fall 2008 term, you must have your e-Cashier® or RMCAD payment plan agreement in place, or tuition paid in full by September 1, 2008.

  • We strongly encourage you utilize the e-Cashier® payment service. It is an online, automatic payment plan that allows you to pay your tuition through a bank account debit (checking or savings) or as a charge to a credit card. You may pay in several installments without interest charges.

The e-Cashier option is only available until the end of the add/drop period (the end of the second week of school) and there is a service charge of $25/term to participate.

To get started click the MAKE AN ONLINE PAYMENT link on the Students page (note: you’ll need your student ID number to enroll).

  • For a fee of $50/term, RMCAD offers a 4-month payment plan. So if you signed up in the fall your tuition would be billed in four equal installments in September, October, November and December. Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Please visit or call our Student Accounts Coordinator at 303.225.8577 to sign up.

  • If you have been awarded a RMCAD scholarship the amount of that award will be deducted from your tuition bill. Other financial aid such as grants and loans will also be applied as credits to your account, but only if you’ve completed all of your financial aid paperwork well in advance.

If you haven’t completed your financial aid paperwork at the time tuition is due, your account may be subject to late fees and interest charges.

  • No. Generous scholarships are available through the Admissions Office, but most students still find themselves with a gap not covered by financial aid. You should apply early for both admissions and financial aid to see what this means for you.

  • If you are enrolled in nine or more credits and do not have other coverage you will be automatically enrolled in the College sponsored health insurance plan. If you are covered on another plan, you must submit a waiver form and a copy of your insurance card. The waiver is available on the Dates + Forms page.

If you do not submit a waiver and provide proof of coverage, student health insurance charges will appear on your fall and spring bill (coverage is for the entire academic year when the fall and spring charges are paid.) If you provide proof of coverage after the start of the term, you may receive a partial refund of the charges incurred.

  • No. RMCAD’s tuition is all-inclusive. No additional fees are due other than late charges and/or service charges. You may, however, be assessed a materials fee for certain classes or fees related to excessive use of campus printers.

  • No. Parking is free and ample. If you park in a fire lane or restricted area or do not have a parking sticker display on your vehicle, however, you will be subject to a parking ticket. Parking fines should be paid at the Texas building Information desk. Learn more on the Transportation Page.

  • No, books and supplies are not included in your tuition charge. Many students purchase everything they need in our campus Supply Store. Some purchase things elsewhere, including online. Most students do a combination of both.

  • Yes, pre-paid Supply Store accounts can be set up with the Student Accounts Coordinator (office on the 3rd floor of the Texas Building). You can do this when you come for New Student Orientation or at any time throughout the term.

  • No, but you can purchase a Café punch card ($20 denomination) in the Supply Store. The Underground Café also accepts credit or debit cards in addition to cash.

Health Insurance Questions

  • Yes. If you are enrolled in nine or more credits, you will be automatically enrolled in the College sponsored plan unless you have other coverage (e.g., on your parent’s plan or your spouse’s plan). If you are covered on another plan, you may submit a waiver form and a copy of your insurance card. The waiver is available on the Dates + Forms page.

You must submit the waiver by the deadline each year to prevent automatic enrollment in the College sponsored plan. We will send you a reminder about this via your RMCAD e-mail account each spring and summer.

  • You will be billed twice, in the amount of $1152 each on your fall and spring tuition bills for health insurance for the 2008-2009 academic year. The charge on your fall term tuition bill covers your insurance premium for the fall semester. The charge on your spring term tuition bill covers your insurance premium for both the spring and summer academic terms.

  • Our HMO plan offers comprehensive coverage, with 100% coverage for network services after co-payments are made. There is no deductible for the College sponsored plan. Students must remain enrolled in nine or more credits (during the fall and spring semesters only) to remain eligible for coverage – coverage continues through the summer months.

  • An ID card will be mailed to you near the start of your first semester of enrollment. It is mailed directly from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Colorado to the mailing address the College has on file. In some cases, this is the student’s home (parent’s) address, so be sure parents know to watch for it.

  • It’s a good idea to carry the ID card with you; you never know when you might have an emergency. If you loose your card, please see the Dean of Students for assistance in requesting another one.

  • This is a doctor who you would see for routine appointments. The College will automatically assign you to a nearby PCP who has agreed to see RMCAD students on a priority basis. The PCP’s name is listed on your ID card.

If you want to change physicians, you must do this before making an appointment. A provider directory (a listing of doctors who participate in the plan) is available on the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield website – www.anthem.com. You can change your assigned PCP online or by phone through Anthem customer service at any time.

  • Call your PCP and make an appointment. The PCP and their phone number are listed on your ID card.

  • A co-payment or “co-pay” is the out of pocket amount you will pay directly to the provider for services. The co-payment for an appointment with the PCP is $20. Specialist co-payments are $40. A complete list of other service co-payments is available in the HMO Plan Description.

  • In a life- or limb-threatening emergency you should immediately dial 911 ( 9-911 from a campus phone), or go to the nearest medical facility. The nearest hospitals to the campus are:

    St. Anthony’s Central Hospital
    4231 W. 16th Avenue
    Denver, CO
    303-629-3511
    South side of Sloan’s Lake

    Exempla Lutheran Medical Center
    8300 W. 38th Avenue
    Wheat Ridge, CO
    303-425-4500
Between Wadsworth and Kipling on 38th Avenue

You are not required to notify or receive pre-authorization before receiving emergency care. You are required to notify Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield within one business day of admission, or as soon as possible, to ensure that follow up care or inpatient admission will be covered and/or arranged.

  • Emergencies are covered anywhere you may travel. Routine appointments should be scheduled to occur while you are in Colorado. RMCAD will send you a reminder about this prior to the summer break.

  • No.

  • Call our provider at 800-424-4014 to make the necessary arrangements.

  • Take the prescription from the doctor to a participating pharmacy – King Soopers, Safeway, Target, Wal-Mart, (many pharmacies are within walking distance of the campus), present the ID card and pay the designated co-pay amount. The co-pay amount will be $15, $40, $60 or 30%, depending on the drug.

  • Please stop by, email or call the Dean of Students for assistance or questions about the plan.
