Why Certificate Programs?

RCMAD offers certificate programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Certificate programs are designed to present a practical and convenient path for individuals who wish to augment their credentials, skills, and academic expertise.

How can a certificate affect my career path?

RMCAD’s Certificate Programs focus on giving students an efficient way to propel their careers forward and develop expertise in specific areas. Classes take place entirely online, and are perfect for individuals who have busy schedules and other time commitments.

Certificate Programs not only prepare students for career advancement, but also set the stage for academic advancement. Students earn undergraduate or graduate credit, which can be used later toward degree programs.

RMCAD Certificate Program courses require 12-16 credit hours of study, designed to allow students to take specialization courses to enhance their academic and professional experience.

Is financial aid available?

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Students must first complete their admissions interview and submit their admissions application and FAFSA in order to pursue financial aid opportunities.

Special program for alumni

Alumni may return to RMCAD to earn certificates at the undergraduate or graduate level. Students taking courses at the same degree level may request a reprint of the diploma with awarded certificates listed in order to indicate specialized skills, for a $50 fee. Alumni are strongly encouraged to consult with the Department Chair or Dean to ensure that a certificate program meets both professional and personal needs.

Curricular Guidelines

Certificate program courses are derived from credit-bearing courses, and can be applied toward a degree program. However, credits cannot be applied to both the degree program and the certificate program.

ALL undergraduate certificate program students must have achieved a cumulative 2.0 (C) grade point average in all courses attempted, in order for the certificate to be granted. ALL graduate certificate program students must have achieved a cumulative 3.0 (B) grade point average in all courses attempted, in order for the graduate certificate to be granted.

Admissions Requirements

Students must meet the admissions requirements for the associated degree program. This is to be determined after an admissions interview and application fee of $50. All published policies, procedures, deadlines, calendars, etc. for the degree programs apply.
