Financial Aid

FAFSA

The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible. The FAFSA will determine your eligibility for Federal grants, state aid and student loans. Occasionally we'll require additional information to finalize your aid. You'll be notified in writing if the College needs you to complete any additional forms.

When completing the FAFSA, reference RMCAD's school code: 013991. Make sure your FAFSA is 100% complete. Don't leave blanks - answer “0,” “N/A,” or “None” as applicable.

We strongly encourage you to complete your FAFSA online, as it will dramatically reduce the processing time by the Department of Education.

Printed versions of the FAFSA are also available through the RMCAD Financial Aid Office, your high school guidance office, and at public libraries.

Grants + Loans

A variety of grants and loans are available for qualifying students. How do you know if you qualify? For Federal aid, simply complete the FAFSA. To receive financial aid from the state of Colorado, the student must be a resident of the state and must have completed a Colorado residency form with the Financial Aid Office.

Grants

Grants do not have to be repaid -- they're a gift based on financial need.

Student Loans

All loans must be repaid, with interest. RMCAD participates in the Direct Loan Program, wherein the U.S. Department of Education is the lender. Loan applications and Promissory Notes are completed online and funds are sent via electronic funds transfer (EFT) from the lender to RMCAD to be applied directly to the student’s tuition account. Both student Stafford Loans and parent PLUS loans are available through this program.
