What most surprised you about studying at RMCAD?

I was most suprised by the freedom given in my classes. I'm able to make what I want to make if I can justify why I'm making it.

What aspect of your work or technique has developed the most during your time here?

My attention to detail and level of professionalism has really been developed during my time here. I notice everything about any art piece I am viewing from the quality of the pedestal to how nice the wall mount looks behind a piece were no one is "supposed" to look. Seeing bad examples in galleries reminds me to never leave unfinished details in my work.

How would you describe your style or approach?

I approach my work with my sitting and staring method. I sit and stare for however long is necessary, it varies for each piece, then before I realize it I am lost in my sculpting. I usually don't want to stop once I'm at that point, and if I do all the details I want to add haunt my mind until I can start working again.

If you were stuck in an elevator with a brand new RMCAD student, what "inside tip" would you give them?

My inside tip would be to make sure they pay attention to what classes they are being scheduled to take.
