I would say that sometimes my approach to a piece comes from seemingly arbitrary connections between two ideas, who’s union generate a new idea, sometimes my approach is more concept-heavy; having to do with a specific philosophy and questioning how to give form to those ideas, and then sometimes my approach is very intuitive and has nothing to do with anything other than myself. I don't have a formula.

What most surprised you about studying at RMCAD?

After transferring from a state university with 45,000 students, what surprised me most was the intimacy.

What aspect of your work or technique has developed the most during your time here?

The most growth I can see is in my consideration for concept, I think our faculty does a great job of emphasizing the indispensable concept driving the piece, which really makes you think about why instead of how.

If you were stuck in an elevator with a brand new RMCAD student, what “inside tip” would you give them?

Nothing, figuring it out on your own is more rewarding.
