"Under the Influence"

Once every two years, the illustrious faculty at RMCAD show off their skills in a faculty exhibition. This year's exhibition, Under the Influence, revolves around the concept of finding inspiration in everyday objects. Take a glimpse into the creative process of RMCAD faculty members as they display objects that influence the individual works of art they produce. Each piece highlights the artist's unique perception of the world and their relationship to the tangible objects they encounter. These objects can include anything and everything; from household knick knacks and tools, to sporting equipment and clothing.

Accompanying each object is a statement from the artist explaining how they use that particular item and why it is important to them. By witnessing the transformation of a seemingly ordinary object into a muse for artistic expression, the audience will gain a greater understanding of how one can select, organize and interpret the world around them, using it as a creative tool.
