Meghan Weatherby and Brandon Bultman, both current Fine Arts students at RMCAD, will create a collaborative installation in the Rude Gallery.

The work—which explores the ways we absorb conscious and subconscious thought—will feature canvas paintings by Brandon with “commentary” painting by Meghan directly on the walls of the gallery.

Brandon’s suburban landscape paintings deal with time’s effect on memory—focusing on the simplification or romanticizing that often happens. Meghan’s work addresses the process and connection of thoughts. This collaboration between artists reflects on how we interpret our experiences and how that interpretation, in turn, shapes us.

"We wanted to combine our separate areas of interest to explore something new," the pair said. "To create visual comprehension of the incomprehensible: the ability of the human brain to have a conscious and subconscious thought at the same instant."
