Interior Design–Green Design Emphasis
Class of 2009
Hometown: Denver, CO

Why did you choose to attend Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design?

I chose RMCAD because of the reputation, size, and location.

What has been your favorite class so far and why?

My Interior Design classes are all wonderful and challenging. I have found though, that Green Design has really challenged the way I look at design and the way in which I will not only practice design in the future, but how I will implement the "Green" philosophy into my life.

How has RMCAD prepared you for what you want to do when you graduate?

I'd like to do international luxury hospitality design. At RMCAD, I have been exposed to designers in the field that have led me to network with other designers.

How would you describe the students who attend RMCAD?

Students at RMCAD are different than students from other schools I have attended. It is not so much the individuals themselves that differ, but the way they interact with this learning environment. Here we are united in the philosophy that art and design are more than creative outlets, they are a way of life and—for many graduates from RMCAD—a profitable way of life.

How has your life changed since enrolling at RMCAD?

In high school, I was an average student and always involved in school activities. As a college student, I have worked hard to excel because I recognize the value of my education and the door it will open for me in the future. I am also still a strong advocate for involvement in school activities. RMCAD has united all the things that I want to pursue career-wise.

What would you want a prospective student to know about RMCAD?

Come with your drawing pad and pen, an open mind, an open heart, and all the passion you have for art and design and RMCAD will lead the way.
