Off-Campus Events

RMCAD plays an active role in our surrounding communities, seizing every opportunity to participate in local events, activities and festivals. Below is a list of some of the places you will find us out and about town in the upcoming months.

Film on the Rocks: Throughout Summer

RMCAD is a proud sponsor of the Denver Film Society, including the Film on the Rocks series. On select dates throughout the summer, Red Rocks hosts a local band and film (usually a pop culture favorite). RMCAD has a booth at each film event, giving out information and prizes.

11th Annual Underground Music Showcase: July 21 - 24

The UMS is the largest indie music festival in the Rocky Mountain region, featuring 325 performances by local and national bands on 25 stages throughout Denver's South Broadway neighborhood. RMCAD will have a booth during the festival, giving out information and prizes.

New West Fest: August 12 - 14

New West Fest is Fort Collins' largest community festival. The free weekend showcases over 250 arts, crafts and food booths, kids' areas, beer gardens, and 9 stages of local and national bands playing continuously throughout the weekend. RMCAD will have a booth during the festival, giving out information and prizes.

Chair of Communications Design Honored

Fred Murrell, Chair of RMCAD’s Communications Design Department, was recently named a fellow of AIGA Colorado. Prior to 2011, this prestigious honor had only been bestowed upon three other people in the chapter’s 22-year history. Read more.

A Mondo Day of Fashion at RMCAD

On March 21, the Mary Harris Auditorium was filled to capacity with RMCAD students, faculty and staff, as well as local high school students and members of the Denver community. Everyone had gathered on campus on this sunny Monday morning to witness one of the most anticipated events of the year: the RMCAD Paper Fashion Show. Read more.

49th Annual Student Exhibition

Every spring since the College was founded, RMCAD students from all years and disciplines have joined forces to put on the largest exhibition of the year. 2011’s show was an impressive demonstration of the limitless imagination and artistic aptitude cultivated in our classrooms. Animated shorts, sculptures, oil paintings, typography studies, interior design sketches, and installations – you name it, and you probably could have found it in this interdisciplinary collection.
