RMCAD Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Posted June 10th, 2013 at 2:01PM

In the fall semester of 2013, RMCAD will celebrate our 50th anniversary. We’ll be hosting a series of events that highlight our history and look forward to future success.

Our History
In 1963, RMCAD was founded in the foothills by established illustrator and educator, Phillip J. Steele. He envisioned a community of creatives where students could develop a passion for creativity and embark on lifelong learning. Since then, RMCAD has grown exponentially. The school’s original class had six members. Today, RMCAD has well-over 600 students and offers a variety of art and design majors.

Our physical campus has also changed. Our current campus has a rich history of its own and houses state-of-the-art facilities. Alongside classes in life drawing and the fine arts, you’ll find cutting-edge courses in 3D animation, computer-aided design, and game art.

We’re looking forward to a bright future of expansion and innovation and welcome you to join us this fall as we celebrate 50 years of creative excellence.
