This course is an in-depth study of textiles, the industry that produces them and their integral relationship to interior design. Students investigate textile construction, and their use in interior design. Emphasis is on the selection of appropriate and code compliant products for environmental and life safety. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to recognize, categorize and evaluate different textile products to create aesthetic and functional designs appropriate for residential and commercial interiors that protect health, safety and welfare.
