40West Arts District
RMCAD’s campus is located in the heart of the 40 West Art District, one of Colorado’s 11 state-certified creative districts. A 501(c)3 nonprofit, the 40 West Arts District encompasses an entire community geared towards the progression of artistic and creative energy with performing arts venues; 20+ public art installations; a dozen galleries; and a variety of restaurants, cafes, and pubs. RMCAD partners with 40 West through the Artist in Residence program, financial support, board participation, and event contribution.
Denver Chalk Art Festival
RMCAD is a returning sponsor of the Denver Chalk Art Festival in Larimer Square, a free event in which artists fill Larimer Square with chalk paintings. RMCAD is proud to present the Chalk Art Festival’s Youth Challenge. This component of the event features a dozen talented groups of youth and students from Colorado schools and organizations. All compete for cash prizes for their schools’ visual arts departments. RMCAD also sends a team of students and faculty to represent the school’s talent.
RMCAD is a supporting sponsor of the Denver Comic Con and Literary Conference (DCC), a three-day family-friendly, pop culture fan convention. RMCAD's sponsorship extends through several different initiatives, including financial support; booth presence at the event; support of Pop Culture Classroom—a nonprofit education initiative; and the Reel Heroes Filmmaker Series. Additionally, RMCAD has partnered with Breckenridge Brewery to hold a design contest for the label of the brewery's special Denver Comic Con beer.
Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver
The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to provide durable and simple housing to hardworking people in need. Throughout the year, RMCAD students have been volunteering time to help with operations at the ReStores affiliated with Habitat for Humanity, and worked to create a 3D mural that was placed in the brand new Aurora ReStore. The mural was created using materials from the ReStore and reflected Habitat's mission of Homes, Community, and Hope.
