Online Curriculum Information
RMCAD currently offers the BFA in 3D Animation and the BFA in Interior Design online. We are also launching the initial online courses for the BFA in Communications Design and the BFA in Illustration in Fall 2011. Online programs are 100% online, and no campus attendance is necessary.
All other programs, with the exception of Interior Design, are also offered in hybrid format. This means that students take approximately half of the courses online and the rest on campus. For details, visit our Hybrid Program page.
3D Animation
The Online BFA Degree in 3D Animation is a professional degree for students needing remote access to the educational requirements for careers in 3D animation.
The degree consists of 120 credit hours. Courses are delivered in eight-week sessions in a regulated sequence to allow for the acquisition of necessary skills, the retention and transfer of knowledge, and the professional discipline necessary for entry-level animation practice. To facilitate the different needs of students enrolling in the online degree program, there are two degree plan options:
Full-time status: 21 sessions of study consisting of two (2) courses per session
Part-time status: 42 sessions of study consisting of one (1) course per session
Communications Design
The Online BFA Degree in Communications Design is designed for students needing remote access to the educational requirements for careers in Communication Design and related media.
The degree consists of 120 credit hours with courses delivered in eight-week sessions in a regulated sequence to allow for the acquisition of necessary skills, the retention and transfer of knowledge and the professional discipline necessary for entry-level practice. To facilitate the different needs of students enrolling in the online degree program, there are two degree plan options:

Illustration
The Online BFA Degree in Illustration is designed for students needing remote access to the educational requirements for careers in illustration.
The degree consists of 120 credit hours with courses delivered in eight-week sessions in a regulated sequence to allow for the acquisition of necessary skills, the retention and transfer of knowledge and the professional discipline necessary for entry-level practice. To facilitate the different needs of students enrolling in the online degree program, there are two degree plan options:
Full-time status: 20 sessions of study consisting of two (2) courses per session
Part-time status: 40 sessions of study consisting of one (1) course per session
Interior Design
The online BFA Degree in Interior Design is a first-professional degree for students needing remote access to the educational requirements for careers in interior design. The online BFA Degree in Interior Design is not accredited by CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation).
The degree consists of 125 credit hours. Courses are delivered in eight-week sessions in a regulated sequence to allow for the acquisition of necessary skills, the retention and transfer of knowledge and the professional discipline necessary for entry-level interior design practice. To facilitate the different needs of students enrolling in the online degree program, there are two degree plan options:
Full-time status: 22 sessions of study consisting of two (2) courses per session
Part-time status: 44 sessions of study consisting of one (1) course per session
