RMCAD Names New President + Provost

Thursday, February 11, 2010

The Board of Directors for Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is proud to announce the appointment of our new President + Provost, Dr. Maria Puzziferro. Effective March 1st, Maria will be taking on the new role of academic and administrative head of the College.

Maria has been with the school since August, most recently in the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs. She holds her PhD in Higher Education Administration from New York University and has strong experience in the development of both on-ground and online degree programs.

Steve Steele, RMCAD's long-time President (and son of founder Philip J. Steele) stepped down from his position at the beginning of the year. Board member Dr. James Schoemer has been acting as Interim President since, while the search for the ideal candidate was underway.

In selecting Maria, the Board cited her current work at the College, where she is an integral part of the executive team and an effective leader for the academic departments.

"We all look forward to the next phase of an exciting and productive future for the College under the leadership of Dr. Puzziferro" said Curt Wiederman, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Join us in congratulating Maria and welcoming her to RMCAD's helm.
