The individual artists who choose to study at RMCAD come from wildly diverse backgrounds. We welcome everyone. Whether you are a brilliant but misunderstood high school graduate, a transfer student who outgrew the program at another institution, or a working adult preparing for a new career there's a place for you at RMCAD.

Despite their varied backgrounds our students are all united in one thing: they share a passion for creative thinking and cherish the opportunity to develop their abilities in our unique and collaborative environment. Here are a few interesting facts and stats about our student body:

  • What is the male/female student ratio?
    The current RMCAD student body is 59% female and 41% male.
  • Where do your students come from?
    Approximately 71% of our students are from the state of Colorado.
  • What is the student teacher ratio, and what is the average class size?
    The student/faculty ratio is 19:1. The average class size is 12 students.
  • How many students are enrolled in each major?
    During the fall 2008 term enrollment was as follows: Art Education (45), Animation (97), Graphic Design + Interactive Media (112), Interior Design (96), Illustration (125), Fine Arts (84), and undeclared majors (16).
  • How old is the average RMCAD student? 22.3 years old
  • Do your graduates find jobs? Our overall graduate job placement rate is 81% (2004-2007 graduates). Of the freshman class of 2002, 45.7% of those studying full time and 75% of those studying half time received their BFA from RMCAD.
