Cars on Campus
Colorado is a big place. While a car is not absolutely necessary, access to a car will help you take advantage of all the recreational and cultural opportunities available in the city and region.
All students are welcome to have their cars on campus. Parking is ample and free both on campus and at The Regency, our preferred student housing location. Check in at the Information Desk in the Texas Building during the first week of class to get your parking sticker.
Many students without cars (or those who choose not to drive for environmental reasons) often have friends with cars, and carpooling or ride sharing is very common.
Public Transportation: RTD
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) provides public transportation in and around Denver. Every RMCAD student receives a complimentary RTD pass that provides unlimited access to:
- local and regional bus service
- light rail
- “Park & Ride” shuttle service to Denver International Airport
There's an RTD bus stop one block from campus on the corner of Colfax and Pierce.
RMCAD-Regency Direct Transportation Service
RMCAD operates an optional direct-to-campus transportation shuttle. This shuttle runs between campus and The Regency several times a day. The schedule is updated each semester to coordinate with the class schedule of those riding.
Availability is limited, so students interested in signing up for this service should complete the RMCAD-Regency Direct Transportation Service Agreement and return it to Braelin Pantel, Dean of Students. For the Fall 2009 semester, the Direct Transportation Service fee is $220 for the semester.

Regency to Auraria Shuttle
Students living at The Regency can take advantage of the free shuttle bus that goes between The Regency and the downtown Denver Auraria campus. From there, students can take RTD public transportation to a bus stop just outside campus.
This shuttle bus is operated by The Regency and runs regularly Monday through Friday during the day. This service allows easy access to all of the amenities in downtown Denver including the CU-Denver library.
