Brent Fitch Named President of Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design

The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the new President of Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD), Brent Fitch. Brent boldly joins RMCAD amid a time of responsible growth, diligent progression and strategic adaptation, and will serve to continue our community on the same path. He began his duties as RMCAD President on May 22, 2020.

A focused and versatile forward thinker, Brent is a highly knowledgeable senior administrator with a strategic vision in higher education and a proven track record creating and executing effective faculty, employee and student success programs that address ever-changing needs, both short and long-term. Previously, he served in several roles at University of Phoenix including Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and he also was a strategic institutional advisor while working at Blackboard.

As the College prepares to welcome Brent, Board Chairman Alan Jahde looks forward to his impact. “With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, Brent brings with him a wealth of knowledge to RMCAD that will contribute to enhance the student experience and lead the institution into the future of technology driven student support and advanced learning in the arts.”

Brent holds an MBA from University of New Orleans, bachelor’s degrees in management as well as marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a certificate in data science from University of California, Berkeley. He succeeds Chris Spohn, who served as RMCAD’s president from April 2017 – April 2020 before moving on to be closer to family in California.

Brent is looking forward to joining the RMCAD COVID-19 Task Force as RMCAD continues to work towards opening our campus for classes in the Fall term. He is excited about continuing RMCAD’s excellence in art and design education and its dedication to serving our students, their learning, and their growth.
