This event will be hosted virtually via Zoom.

Have you ever wanted to share your story in a creative way? Have you ever wanted to tell your story in a way that is unexpected and experimental? Have you ever wanted to find a way to integrate your love for writing with your love for art? This workshop is for anyone interested in creating works of art from a place of personal experience, or based on observations played out in the world, through a wide-range of writing approaches and with the opportunity to include images (photographs, drawings, collected ephemera, the world is your oyster!) It could be argued that any personal essay has the potential to be a lyric essay, one that revels in the breadth of language. The hybrid essay, more specifically, is something that does not follow rules, but makes up its own. Join Foundations and Fine Art faculty member, Carin Rodenborn, for an hour of exploring the lyric/hybrid essay in a generative way that will allow you to move forward with a creative project you have been wanting to start, or a creative project you didn’t even know yet was flickering on the edges of your imagination.
