ABOUT ANIA GOLA-KUMOR

Ania Gola-Kumor was born in Warsaw, Poland, and moved to the United States in 1982. She has shown her work in nationally and internationally ( London, Ottawa, Toronto, Warsaw); and is currently represented by Sandra Phillips Gallery in Denver. She has taught at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design since 1998. Her exhibit, “Moving Paint”, was awarded by the Denver Westword as Best 2014 Solo Gallery Show in Denver. Recently, she had a solo show at Sandra Philips Gallery, “Moving Paint II,” and participated in a group exhibition titled “Pink Progression.” Ania recieved her MFA from Warsaw Academy of Fine Art.

ABOUT DAVID COLLINS

Dave Colllins has taught at RMCAD for almost 20 years. He enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds, to whom he lends a variety of his own approaches based on his experiences. Over the years, he’s worked in a different artistic areas including portraiture, figure, still-life, and landscape painting, as well as animal art. He’s also done advertising, book illustration, toy design, graphic design, and designed commercial paintings for resorts in Colorado, Las Vegas, and Florida. He lives with his wife Heather and his two chihuahuas in Lakewood.

Dave studied art at the New York Academy of Art in New York City (MFA-Painting), the University of Colorado at Denver (BA in Art History, BFA in Creative Arts-Painting), and the Art Students League of Denver (Painting and Sculpture Studies). He’s also taken courses in Paleontology and the Osteology of Animals, as well as Paleoart and Space Art at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. He specializes in teaching Life Painting and Drawing, Landscape Painting, and Human and Animal Anatomy Drawing at RMCAD.

Dave is a fourth generation Coloradan, and has always been fascinated by the state’s natural beauty. Painting the wide scope of landscapes of the front range prairies and rivers, mountain scenes, and scenes of the Southwest United States has been a life-long passion, as well as painting subjects from trips to Europe—most recently Ireland. He enjoys working in different media and styles, from cartoony to realistic, especially when he’s teaching. His students inspire him to keep discovering and studying new of areas for expression.
