1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This is part 1 of 4 of a virtual workshop series and will be hosted via Zoom.

Adjunct Professor and RMCAD Alumni Alex Weeks will present a Painter-Friendly Photoshop Workshop. She will be speaking to the challenges for those accustomed to the traditional pencil and paper, including handling your canvas, color mixing and proofing values, and layer organization for optimal project planning. She will explore menus and tools you have access to that allows you to correct your paintings in real-time. For example, changing local areas of color separately from shading and lighting and having multiple unique results. By the end of this workshop, Photoshop should be equally friendly to the veteran painter and the freshman artist whether you prefer to work opaquely or by means of compositing!

Alex Weeks is an adjunct professor and alumni at RMCAD, teaching Digital Painting for Film + Games. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in the novel Game Art program at the institute. Her primary focus is on appealing characters and accompanying visualization between the threshold of asset creation and promotional illustration. Her most notable clients include S2 Games, Upper Deck, and Activision & Toys For Bob’s Skylanders franchise. She’s also been featured in a wide variety of fanzines and official collective projects including Gamers For Good’s Undertale charity book and For Fans By Fan’s Homestuck Calendar and Fan Forge merchandise. The depth of her involvement in fan-created content has extended to multiple Japanese publications in two separate circles.
