Join the RMCAD community in welcoming an exhibit by photography student Scott McQuown in the Epic Project Space! McQuown’s body of work explores the stark contrast between the fleeting nature of humanity and the vast, enduring timescales of Earth’s history. Captured during an overland journey spanning 10,000 miles from Colorado to Alaska, McQuown presents vast landscapes under the Milky Way through the photographic process of platinum-palladium printing. One of the oldest photo printing methods, platinum-palladium printing utilizes rare precious metals formed deep within the Earth millions of years ago, infusing McQuown’s work with a profound connection between Earth’s ancient history and human artistry. On display during the Month of Photography, Transient & Timeless will be on display from February 28 – April 4, 2025.
