About the Speaker

Luke Flowers graduated from RMCAD in 2000. After graduation, he spent 10 years as a designer, illustrator and creative director for Young Life. In 2010 he launched his own studio, Luke Flowers Creative. At that time he began focusing his creative journey on children’s publications. By 2015, Luke Flowers illustrated his first published children’s book with Penguin Random House and the Smithsonian Institute.

He recently illustrated the New York Times Best-seller “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” poems by Fred Rogers and Disney’s “The Muppet Christmas Carol” storybook. He is also both author and illustrator of the “Moby Shinobi” series with Scholastic. The book series has sold over a million copies since book #1 was published in 2016, with a new “Moby Shinobi” chapter book series releasing later this year.

About the Wayfinding Series

The Wayfinding Series connects students to local creative professionals. With equal parts inspiration and honesty, speakers will share their path towards a successful creative life and all of the twists and turns involved in that journey. Addressing career-focused issues such as industry trends, relevant skills, making connections, and professional fulfillment, speakers will highlight that there is no one way to find and live a successful, creative career. Speakers will represent a variety of creative employment opportunities, connecting to multiple academic departments and revealing that professional creatives are found in diverse and sometimes surprising fields.
