President’s Update: Fall A 2022

Dear RMCAD Community,

Twenty years on our beautiful campus in Lakewood and approaching sixty years as an established institution, we find RMCAD reaching milestone accomplishments. We are excited to be back on campus as we continue to redefine and return to our new normal in the wake of COVID-19. As a community, we have adapted and continue to thrive and grow despite the challenges faced.

While we commit to taking great care of our entire campus, online and in-person, we also want to acknowledge and welcome our largest student population ever, who joined the RMCAD community this fall. We are looking forward to engaging with you all throughout the academic year with our various community and social events, along with our scheduled Explore Colorado adventures, our student exhibits and visiting artists engagements, to name a few.

We hope all of our on-campus and virtual events have made you feel right at home. We want to be that place where you feel safe and supported throughout your educational journey. Every year we send out a student satisfaction survey which allows our students to voice and provide valuable feedback to our institution. We are excited to be able to improve and adapt together.

Based on your valuable feedback, we heard your appreciation for the quality resources that RMCAD provides, which make a substantial impact on your success. We will continue to provide these resources, like clear and easy scheduling services, excellent admissions support and knowledgeable professors. We will also continue to implement improvements based on our student survey results by working on expanding class availability and broadening our career services support across your journey from freshman year to graduation, all while making RMCAD an even more welcoming and engaging community.

As we approach the Fall B term, we want to thank you for strengthening our community and sharing your creativity. We look forward to nourishing this generation of artists and seeing what great creations are to come. We are honored to be an integral part of not only the artistic process but also, the creative community. We hope to help you flourish while you are here, so you can continue to contribute creatively to society and forever impress all of us with your masterpieces.

Stay creative,
Brent Fitch
RMCAD President
