A lot of my professors were really good at giving us hands-on experience and I think it is really important that our professors have the experience and know what the field is actually like. My RMCAD education really helped me know how the design process really works from start to finish.

With my collection I wanted to make something a little bit more expressing. I like how the program helps you develop in different areas of the field in the industry.

I was influenced by women in power who were not afraid to be feminine and sexual with their clothing. I will be the first kid in my immediate family to graduate college. It’s really a big deal and it’s really exciting.

My best advice to Veterans that want to pursue their art degree is just to go for it! It’s kind of intimidating because art school is a whole different world and it kind of pushes you out of your comfort zone, but it’s all worth it!

Having the opportunity to design this senior collection has been amazing. The thing I love the most about being a Fashion Design student at RMCAD is the freedom to explore my interests and the tight-knit community really allowed me to develop genuine relationship with my instructors.

What I love most about being a Fashion Design student at RMCAD is that it’s been a humbling experience to meet other creatives even outside the fashion program. I think we have a lot of world class creatives.

For incoming students to RMCAD and the Fashion Department, I give the advice of: say yes.  Say yes to every opportunity that you can get.  Go for it even if its overwhelming and then also ask questions and be bold.  Ask if you can do the crazy things.  They will say yes.

RMCAD was really influential for me, the teachers I had were extremely impactful and I still keep in touch with them. I think a smaller school like RMCAD can be really beneficial in terms of making connections and keeping those connections.

What’s really nice about the RMCAD community is that it is a community. We’re all good friends and we keep in contact. A lot of the people that I was here with are working in the industry, so that says how important those relationships are.
