Shelley Fladry
Associate Director of Creative Industry Development

Originally from Clarksville, TN, Shelley received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatrical Costume Design from Austin Peay State University. During her time in Tampa, FL, she worked in the corporate entertainment field for Seaworld Parks and Entertainment. In addition, she worked on countless freelance jobs designing for fashion shows, special effects make-up, and costume design positions—along with working with large corporations such as Sesame Workshop, Animax Designs Inc., and Vee Productions. Since starting at RMCAD, Shelley has produced campus events, including RMCAD’s very first farmer’s market: FARMCAD. As Associate Director of Creative Industry Development, she will utilize her unique entertainment and creative industry experience and connections to further students’ professional development.

 

Karina Marconi
Business Development and Outreach

Karina Marconi is RMCAD’s Business Development and Outreach Ambassador and part of the Creative Industry Development group. Karina leads RMCAD’s initiative to originate partnerships with employers and creative institutions to support student interaction with classroom projects, internships, and full-time employment opportunities. Karina is central to organizing RMCAD’s Creative Industry Week, which features key creative entrepreneurs engaging with students in a series of lectures, critiques, and career mixers.

Karina represents RMCAD in the community with her board membership on the 40 West Arts District Mural Fest Planning Committee and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She is also involved with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Young President’s Organization.

Prior to working at RMCAD, Karina served as an Account Executive for Chanel, Inc., where she oversaw the growth of the Washington, D.C. market by 25% in sales. She also served as a Business Development Director for Florida Hospital, where she helped fund, design, and create a cutting edge Women and Babies Hospital.

Karina has a BA in French, a DALF (Diploma in Advanced French Language Studies) From, Alliance Français, Paris, France. She also earned an MBA from La Sierra University, California.

Karina is fluent in French and Spanish. She enjoys travel, yoga, fashion, and spending time with her family. She lives in the West Highlands neighborhood of Denver with her two kids, husband, dog, and cat.

 

Nicolle Dale
Career + Alumni Services Coordinator

A Colorado native from Broomfield, Nicolle Dale received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Merchandising and Design, with Design Emphasis from Colorado State University. Her work experience spans several years in the Apparel and Merchandising Industry as a leader for national in-store marketing ventures for Starbucks , TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls.

Her background working in Higher Education extends for more than six years from Admissions and High School Outreach to Community College Relations and Articulation. In her new role at RMCAD as the Career + Alumni Services Coordinator working under the Creative Industry Development Department, Nicolle is dedicated to service the RMCAD community by building partnerships in the form of jobs and internships, providing professional development, assisting with the RMCAD Renew Program, and empowering students and alumni to achieve their career goals!

 

Gretchen Marie Schaefer

Gretchen Marie Schaefer is Denver, Colorado native and began working at RMCAD in 2013. She holds a bachelor degree in English and Visual Arts from Regis University. She is an alumna of the RedLine Denver artist-in-residence program where she also served as an Artist Representative on the Board of Directors and on the Education Committee. Schaefer is a founding member of TANK Studios, LLC and serves on the 40 West Arts District board.

Exhibitions of her work include group and solo shows at The Museum of Contemporary Art: Denver, Emmanuel Gallery, RedLine, Gildar Gallery, Rule Gallery, RMCAD’s Rude Gallery, the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO and a collaborative project with Wonderbound (formerly Ballet Nouveau Colorado). Schaefer has presented artist talks about her work at Regis University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, the Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado, and the College Advisory Committee of the Denver Art Museum’s 20th Annual Symposium in Art and Art History—for which she received Regis University’s William Becker, S.J. Award for Outstanding Paper in Art History.

 

Tobias Fike

In addition to his work with the VASD Program at RMCAD, Tobias Fike is an interdisciplinary artist and educator at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The form of his artwork is incredibly varied and he approaches a range of concepts, from his personal experiences of family, place, and grief, to our temporal relationship with the universe and observations of time.

Fike was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, moved to Kansas City when he was ten, then later returned to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska, where he earned a BFA in 2000. He earned his MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2011. He creates sound and performance art as part of the Flinching Eye Collective, and collaborates with Matthew Harris, a RMCAD Fine Arts faculty member and Denver artist. He is a member of TANK Studios and is represented by David B. Smith Gallery which presented his exhibition Then and Now and Then and won Denver Westword’s “Best Show About Time and Space” in 2015. Also in the Westword, Fike was selected as one of the 100 Colorado Creatives (read his interview here). Fike’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with exhibitions in Berlin, Germany; Coimbra, Portugal; Houston, TX; and Tucson, AZ, among others.

 

Robert Tammany Evans
Gallery Coordinator

As Gallery Coordinator, Rob oversees the installation of exhibits across the current gallery spaces on campus, including Philip J. Steele Gallery, Rotunda Gallery, Rude Gallery, and Alumni & Faculty Gallery. Rob is an alumnus of RMCAD and is dedicated to making the exhibits a superlative experience.


The CID department is working to produce an event to gather the RMCAD community and creative industry leaders. Creative Industry Launch will be held on December 8 + 9, and will feature networking, portfolio reviews, guest lectures, and creative collaboration. The series will culminate with the Creative Connections Soiree. We hope to see you there!
