Spring 2020 Graduation Exhibition

This year, Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is celebrating its seniors from the Spring class in a new and unique way. Typically a graduation exhibition would be hosted on campus for those to attend and come honor the graduating class in person, however with a global pandemic at hand, the school had to make adjustments in their plans. Venues and art galleries that would ordinarily be open to the public have had to adapt and adjust, and RMCAD is no different.

RMCAD has collaborated with Denver Digerati to present the school’s first virtual graduation exhibition on Friday, June 5, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Denver Digerati specializes in “advancing digital motion-art through exhibition and education, accelerating the merger of art and technology.” Spring 2020 graduating student’s final projects will be displayed as a virtual art exhibition through Denver Digerati’s consumer streaming app, Supernova.video. This exclusive exhibition will be an opportunity for those students who worked so hard during their time at RMCAD to proudly display their work in a creative way using an advanced platform. To prepare for an event of this magnitude, Phillip J. Steele Gallery has worked remotely with students to convert the documentation of their artwork across all mediums, both 2D and 3D into professional, motion-based videos.

Prior to the start of the exhibition, RMCAD will be hosting a virtual opening via Zoom. Students and guests will view videos of the artworks/designs, and have the opportunity to communicate over chat. The virtual opening is the opportunity for students and their families, friends, and guests to gather virtually and celebrate the hard work that undoubtedly goes into graduating from a premier art and design college. The virtual exhibition is immediately to follow and will consist of works from all departments.

RMCAD has a long history of displaying outstanding contemporary art exhibitions. This year they have gone above and beyond to provide an optimized solution for students considering current conditions, much as students will have to when entering their field of choice post-graduation! Discover the hard work of Denver’s newest emerging artists and designers through this inaugural virtual art exhibition from Denver Digerati. Join us this Friday, June 5 2020 at 5:00 p.m. as we honor our graduates and rejoice in the community at RMCAD.
