The top six ways to get involved on the RMCAD campus

Your college experience isn’t complete without getting involved outside of the classroom. Luckily, RMCAD has several fun clubs, activities and opportunities to help you meet more fellow students and find your space within the college. Take a closer look at how to get involved on the RMCAD campus!

1. Join a club or organization (or start your own).
From interior design to photography to graphic arts, RMCAD’s clubs span a whole array of passions and hobbies. These groups provide the perfect organized opportunity for you to meet students with similar likes and ultimately start growing your community here at RMCAD. To learn more about current active clubs, please visit here. If you don’t see a club that fits your interests, you can start your own by following this step-by-step guide.

2. Attend virtual and in person events.
RMCAD hosts several fun and educational events throughout the month both online and on campus. From welcome week activities, campus lunches, student forums, art walks, zoo visits, and even roller skating nights, there are endless events highlighted on the school’s events calendar. You can also complete the form at the bottom of the page to sign up for RMCAD’s weekly events newsletter.

3. Participate in the Explore Colorado program.
At RMCAD, we love welcoming students to our beautiful state and introducing them to fun, unique excursions as part of our Explore Colorado program. Regardless if you are starting your first semester at RMCAD, your last semester or consider yourself a Colorado native, we welcome all students to join these fun-filled activities. To see what’s on the calendar for this school year, please visit here and register today.

4. Pursue a work study or campus job.
Another great way to get involved on campus and to learn more about RMCAD is to pursue a campus job or a work study opportunity. If you are interested in learning more about technology and IT, check out A day in the life of a TechBar student employee to explore further. In addition, we recommend connecting with the campus store, Spectrum, and the Student Learning Center (SLC) for additional job opportunities.

5. Become a student ambassador.
If you are interested in serving as a peer mentor, then becoming a student ambassador may be the right fit for you. RMCAD’s ambassadors work to build community at the school by planning events for the student body and academic departments. If you are interested in learning more about the program, reach out to Mel Kern, Director of Student Life, or check out A day in the life as a RMCAD student ambassador.

6. Explore exhibitions and galleries.
Observing, studying and celebrating the tremendous artistic work of others is one big way to get involved on campus. RMCAD has not one, but six galleries that host several student, alumni and guest artists’ work throughout the year. These are great opportunities to meet up with classmates to explore. For upcoming exhibitions, please visit here and follow along for new Visiting Artist Scholar Designer Program events.

We hope you found at least one or three (or six) of these suggestions helpful as you discover how to get involved on campus!  If you have any questions or would like additional information on Student Life at RMCAD, please reach out to studentactivites@rmcad.edu.
