Stephanie is originally from the Chicago Metropolitan Area, and currently lives in Denver, CO. She received a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in the History of Art from the Ohio State University. She specializes in contemporary art with a focus on new media studies and queer theory.
Stephanie’s teaching pedagogy values student-centered learning, interdisciplinarity, and decolonial practices. She seeks to engage a wide array of students, ensuring that they all have full access to the tools that they need to have a successful and meaningful learning experience. Her favorite part about teaching at RMCAD is connecting with others in the community. During her time at RMCAD, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty members, and local organizations on art programming through the city of Denver. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, perusing local bookstores, and watching the latest reality TV show.

Her writings have been published in Flash Art, Runner Magazine, Media-N, and numerous exhibition catalogs. She was previously the assistant curator at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, OH, and she is currently working as an independent curator. As an artist, her visual works have been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues like the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art (Grand Rapids, MI), the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum (St. Louis, MO), and the Athens Digital Arts Festival (Athens, Greece).
