2020/2021 RMCAD Student Research Symposium

Friday, March 5, 2021
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. MST
This event will be hosted virtually via Zoom.

The first ever RMCAD student research symposium is an all day event where students will present their research and creative work to the RMCAD community and the general public. Topics will be related to inclusion, diversity and equity through the lens of reclamation.

Reclamation is the process of asserting a claim or the taking back of something stolen, removed, or lost. In art, design, and visual culture, reclamation is important in asserting narratives back into the art historical canon of art history and practice, introducing new voices, or challenging why voices have been overlooked or muted.

The RMCAD Symposium committee will be accepting proposals from students October 26, 2020 until January 3rd, 2021.
These will be reviewed January 4, 2021 – January 10, 2021. The live event will be held on March 5, 2021.
