The 60-minute collaborative workshop will focus on introducing visual arts curriculum and instruction through an Anti-Bias and Anti-Racist lens. Topics covered in the workshop will include: identifying and addressing bias and racism in visual art curriculum and instruction, strategies to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment, and developing culturally responsive lesson plans that engage students in critical conversations about voice, power, bias, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Resources provided include a workbook and curriculum audit document that educators can use to reflect and reform their curriculum and instructional practices. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the knowledge and skills they need to create a more equitable and inclusive art education for all students.
