Holodeck Design Competition
As you may know, Texas 327 is home to our virtual reality and motion capture technologies, as well as a sound booth. This space is known as the Holodeck—and it needs an appearance that goes boldly where no classroom has gone before!
The mission, if you choose to accept it is to create a compelling design for the wall outside of the Holodeck.
Update: The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2019. Prizes will be awarded for the winning design.
The wall is just over 20 feet long, so there is plenty of room for awesomeness! Exact measurements are included in the files below:
Note: You may manipulate the rendered image or 3D file, but You cannot move the doors, the potential to knock holes in the wall for windows is there.
The requirements for your design are to to:
- Visually identify the technology within
- Bring attention to the “In Use” light above the door.
- Use the FabLab in some way
Production costs will be taken care of by the Game Art department but do be mindful of the budget.
This competition is open to students, faculty, and staff. Collaboration is welcome (and encouraged).
Note: Please use your RMCAD email address to access the submission folder.
