Often needing to create more satiating options not offered in the current system, artists cooperatively build new, unique models for sustainable practice and creative cultivation. Please join guest curator Lauren Hartog, Donald Fodness of Hyperlink, and Debra Kayes and Teresa Silva of Tiger Strikes Asteroid: Chicago for a conversation about how artists work together to foster supportive communities that expand their artistic reach and experimental potential.

This conversation is part of the exhibition Daily Specials: A Two for One Exhibition featuring Hyperlink and Tiger Strikes Asteroid: Chicago on view in RMCAD’s Philip J. Steele Gallery through July 14th. The exhibition features work by both local and national artists Ashley Eliza Williams, Cydney Lewis, D. Dominick Lombardi, Daisy McGowan, Debra Kayes, Donald Fodness, E.C. Comstock, Holly Cahill, Ian Fisher, Jaclyn Jacunski, Julia Klein, Julie Puma (RMCAD Faculty), Karen Dana Cohen, Lynné Bowman Cravens, Matthew Harris (RMCAD Faculty), Summer Ventis, Theresa Anderson, Tobias Fike (RMCAD Faculty), Xi Zhang (RMCAD alum), and Zehra Khan.

Donald Fodnes is an interdisciplinary artist based in Denver, CO.

Debra Kayes is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and teacher based in Chicago, IL.

Teresa Silva is an art administrator, curator, and lecturer based in Chicago, IL.

Lauren Hartog is an art historian and curator based in Denver, CO.
