This workshop will explore two digital audio applications central to the Music Production at RMCAD: VCV Rack and Ableton Live. VCV Rack is designed for modular synthesis, simulating traditional Voltage Controlled Analog Synthesizers. It is ideal for learning foundational techniques of sound synthesis. Ableton Live can be used for synthesis or to refine sounds crafted prior in VCV Rack. Live is a comprehensive application designed for studio production, composition, and live performance scenarios. Demonstrations of synthesis methods will be given in both applications, with some deeper musical exploration in Live.
