Rebecka Black, Ph.D.

Becky is originally from Mississippi and currently lives in Lakewood, CO. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the University of Houston-Downtown, a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Houston, and a PhD in Art History and Education from the University of Arizona. Becky specialize in art history pedagogy, socially engaged art history, and WWI/WWII visual culture. 

She has been given great opportunities by her mentors in academia and sees it as her responsibility as an educator to make opportunities for her students. Becky loves that RMCAD students are so passionate in their beliefs and ideas about their world. Additionally, she has been a research and public talks volunteer with Historica Denver’s The Molly Brown House since 2019 and a research volunteer with Heritage Lakewood since 2021. She serves on the advisory board of Online Art Educators, as well as acts as an advisor to Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council.
