Most recently Dr. Sarah Ackermann’s family lived in Noblesville, Indiana before relocating to Lakewood, Colorado. She has lived in Illinois, Missouri, and Switzerland. Fun fact, Sarah was actually born in Arvada, although she only lived here for a few months of her life. Sarah has a long and joyful history in education. She loves to learn! She earned a bachelors in art education and a bachelors in photography from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She stayed on to complete her masters in art education right after graduation. From there she went on to teach high school photography in the Chicago suburbs. After several years of working at Streamwood High School, she went back to pursue her doctorate in art education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Shortly before graduating with her PhD, Sarah and her husband had the amazing opportunity to move to Zurich, Switzerland. She taught at several international schools there while wrapping up her dissertation. After four years abroad she came back to serve as Chief Academic Officer at the Art of Education University, and then Executive Director of Teaching Innovation at Ball State University.
