The New Student Orientation is for on-campus students. Connect virtually with key staff members and prepare for your first week of classes. Learn about the campus culture, important resources, and understand what is expected of you as an artist and designer within the RMCAD community.
Our students’ safety and well-being is of the utmost importance to us. With the current social distancing guidelines, we have moved our ground orientation online and will be hosting the session in a remote setting. Please join us on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. MST via Zoom.

How long is Orientation?
Our online edition of campus orientation will run for approximately two and a half hours, with a short ten-minute break in the middle.
Do I need to stay for the whole event?
Yes, we strongly encourage you to stay for the duration of this online session so that you are fully prepared to start classes on Monday, March 1st, 2021.
Why is it important for me to attend Orientation?
Orientation is meant for students who will be taking on-campus classes during their time at RMCAD. The program for the day will include presentations from departments with important information, technology training, and an introduction to your first-year courses – all integral pieces to your success at RMCAD.
Will I get my Student ID and RTD Pass at Orientation?
Because we will be offering our ground orientation in a virtual setting, you will be able to get a copy of your student ID and your RTD pass printed in the Techbar by scheduling an appointment using the Student Portal. If you plan to utilize your RTD pass immediately, please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can accommodate your needs before we return to campus.
Who will I meet at Orientation?
During our online session, you will meet key staff members who will share important resources and tools for you to utilize while you are remote. You will also have the chance to meet your peers virtually as well.
What if I don’t have my class schedule? Who do I see?
You will receive a copy of your class schedule via email from your Academic Advisor. If you need to make changes to your schedule, the advisors will be on hand to your questions during their part of the online presentation.
Will staff be available during Orientation?
You will be able to speak with some key staff members during Orientation. If the person you are looking for is not on the schedule, we will make sure you have their contact information so that you can follow up with them via email or phone call during regular business hours.
When is the deadline to RSVP for Orientation?
Please RSVP here by Wednesday, February 24, 2020 to attend the Spring B Orientation. You will receive a confirmation email and additional details once we receive your RSVP. You may also RSVP for future Orientation dates using the link above. Please ensure that you select your respective start date when completing the form.
