Hybridized

August 16 – September 30
Rude and Epic Galleries

RMCAD Campus: 1600 Pierce Street, Lakewood, CO 80214
Free and Open to the Public

In spite of hybridity and melting pot origins, in American society today there are apparent divisions in spheres of politics, race, culture, class, gender, and sexual orientation. In response to the animosity that at times arises through the polarization of opposites in contemporary culture, works in this exhibition explore ideas of identity through hybrid and intersectional lenses. The artists present cultural blending and gendering bending as examples of the multifaceted selves and experiences we encounter in the 21st century America.

Curated by Alison Leedy and students in the Seminar in Curatorial Studies course, this exhibition is presented in conjunction with the Picture Me Here exhibition.
