About the Exhibition
It is estimated that one in eight women born today will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in life. According to 2013 census research, approximately 160,593,450 women live in the United States. Twenty million of those women are destined for breast cancer. Putnam and Anthony combine photographs of eight women with a sculpture of disembodied breasts to reflect upon the one in eight women who will be affected by this terrible disease.
